27th in Oz, 29th here in sunny Ipswich, Suffolk. Mind you, I don't have the budget for the insider loco and cars! I might have to put up with the Staedler pencil truck :-) |

That is a whole lot of money for a small loco and five two axle coaches IMO, no matter how nice they are. |

Hi All...
I received my 03/2-19 package just today along with the ordering information for the Insider Club Car 2019 (Item No. 48619) plus other materials. I noticed that this item was priced at RRP of USD 20.99. Is this price for non-members?
Also, apart from Lok Shop, is there any other dealers in Germany that you would recommend? After all these years dealing with Roland Bär at Lok Shop, it looks like my account has been deleted completely. I really do not know the reason for this. However, I wish to now move on with a more trustworthy and reliable dealer who would be more interested in my business.
Thank you.
Cheers, Ranjit |

Btw, do all Insider Club members get a "free copy" of the Marklin Catalog (Item No. 15705) as part of the subscription?

Cheers, Ranjit Yes, but you have to ask your dealer to get a copy for you + your club wagon? I personally ask a dealer in Germany, as the uk dealer is a bit iffy? Dan |

Hi Jim…
Unfortunately, the dealer Modellshoplippe is not a member of the Märklin Insider Club. Therefore, they will not be able to take any orders.
I am glad that all Insider Club members get a copy of the Marklin Catalog.

Cheers, Ranjit This is correct. Nevertheless sometimes I buy at MSL (ModellbahnshoppLippe) too. But all my Insider deals I do with Joes. https://estore-sslserver...-2a715f08b03b/CategoriesJust waiting for the brand new Insider V 320 from Joes, which shall arrive this week. Joes shop is only 5 miles away from Märklin in Goeppingen. He must have special contacts to them, because sometimes he suddenly sells very old Märklin goods brand new. (Be aware of the green point beside the article. If it is yellow, only 1 or to pieces are still in stock, no light nothing more in stock.) See here from an old starter set: https://estore-sslserver...5f08b03b/Products/67025.But I also buy from "BesserePreise" too. https://www.besserepreis...-mae&portal=94511215As you see their name is the program. Almost 20% discount on a CS 3+ is a word. You also save 19% VAT too. Isn't it a bargain then? Also I buy at "bwbahn" in MUC http://bwbahn.com/epages...dba60cae51/Categories/17They offer good spare parts and located in Munich MUC). Always I come down to MUC. I do a little "excursion" to their huge shop. It is much much bigger as Märklin in Karstadt, just opposite the cenral station in MUC. But last time I bought spare parts here at the "Lokmuseum" http://www.lokmuseum.de/index.php?SID=197376190566They have a big variety of spare parts as well. The major point for you are the shipping costs. Probably you always have to calculate them first, before you will buy spare parts in a German online shop. All right, I do not have language problems with all of them, but I cannot tell you, who is speaking the best English. By MSL I know, they employ an extra Person with good English knowledge for their foreign customers.

The insider annual club car is 48169, and you just order it via your insider dealer insider order form I think. Cost is just the postage. We get catalogs. In the US they get sent later when they are available and not as part of the insider shipments in the recent past. |

Thank you, TEEWolf, for the elaborate list of dealers you deal with in Germany. I wish we were all as lucky as you!
I notice that many of the website are in German, and from a communication point of view it is difficult for many of us.
Do you know if Joes and Lokmuseum have someone who understands and speaks English?
Take care.

Cheers, Ranjit Hello Ranjit, I have found many dealers in Germany who will send Maerklin items to me in Australia. I have a dealer in Australia (Nathans Trains) upon whom I rely for most of my Maerklin items. However I buy from Germany if the dealer is unable to get a "sold-out", "Eurotrain", "Idee+Spiel", or a second-hand item. Some of my dealers are Joes Modellbahnlaedle, Schmalenbach, Seyfried, BW Bahn, Modellzentrum, and Michelstadt Modellbahntreff. These all have on-line listings. And those dealers are better than eBay because they remove VAT, and there is no 10% charge for Australian Goods Services Tax (GST). Whereas eBay dealers usually do not remove VAT, plus Paypal adds 10% Australian GST. Kimball |

Cheers, Ranjit Sorry Ranjit, I do not know as good these shops are dealing in English. I even could not find a possibility to switch their websites to the English language. The best website I found is the one from MSL. It offers - including German - 8 different languages for its website. ciao Wolfgang

Yeah - that is a long time but that is when my Insider models from US dealers have arrived in the past. They seem to always get everything last for some reason. Right now I am still waiting for my Ardelt crane which many people received months ago and have already returned due to problems. Some people had multiple replacement windows for their Insider 103s before I even got mine. That loco arrived in December and the coaches in January if I remember correctly. |

Thank you, David, for the list of English speaking agents at these online shops.
So far, I have found Joachim at Joes to be super prompt and good in his English. I haven't tried BWBahn yet.
Take care.

Hey Kimball...
Great to hear from you!
I know Nathan’s Trains N Toys Australia very well. Nathan also owns Truly Trains in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
Some of the online dealers you have mentioned are new to me. So far, I have contacted Joes and I find them to be very prompt. Some years ago, I have dealt with Schweickhardt GmbH & Co. KG, and I have found them to be quite decent.

Although a foul wet and cold day, the magazine didn't get wet although one end of the envelope did. Plus, the clown who delivered it folded it in half and shoved it through the letterbox slot rather than using the parcel tray. The Magazine has a feature article on the upcoming Marklin Days and IMA.

I predict weeks still here in the US, which is not a surprise. I get all of my new product info online and then, eventually I see a bit more with sometimes better text and images when the print stuff finds its way to me.
It works, if not perfectly and I do enjoy seeing the nice printed material, even if I have already decided one way or the other about actually buying an item. |

05/2019 Insider package arrived today. Another wet and windy day, but I spotted the envelope in the mailbox before it could get too damp. Apparently there was a mention of our visit to Göppingen for the IMA in the IMA supplement that comes with presumably the German version of the Marklin Magazine - us English speaking folks don't get that, but I do have a copy of the specific page we are mentioned on (Page 2). Marklin Magazine 06/2019 should be quite special as it has a picture of me in it...... plus my fellow club members and a few words about us, but no actual article (at least that's what I'm led to believe).

Marklin Magazine 06/2019 should be quite special as it has a picture of me in it...... plus my fellow club members and a few words about us, but no actual article (at least that's what I'm led to believe). Hello David, find attached this special supplement from the German version of the Maerklin Magazine 05/2019. So all the English speaking folks can get it. Indeed, on page 2 the first sentence says the 10 people delegation of the "Märklin Club aus Neuseeland" around Stephen Cook were stunned ... ciao Wolfgang BTW, at the last page #8 you find some lines about the Insider Club gift and its sound.

Maybe next time we need to arrange with the Marklin publicity department to get a marklin-users.net group photo like that at the top of page 4.
