Dear All

I have an old marklin v160 from the starter set 29845. Suddenly the locomotive does not run forward or backward it just moves slightly very jerkily and then stops. I have changed the motor armature and brushes and checked for loose wires but the fault still occurs. The dual horn function and lights still work. Do you think the decoder is at fault?.

Thanks in advance

Andy

When you removed the motor armature, did you check that the wheels moved freely?

Is the slider in good condition?

Sounds like you have swapped the screws.

These are of different lengths, and when you put the long one in the short ones hole it will screw through and clamp the gears
