I have misplaced a few of the Marlin pick up shoe screws and m track pints screws. I am doing another small project which requires 2mmx4mm bolts and nuts so when checking Ebay, I see there are 4 mm pitch and 4.5 mm pitch,.
Can anyone please help identify the marklin pitch so I can order the same.

What a waste of good wine! LOL

At that size, a 2mm or M2 bolt cannot have a 4mm pitch.. FD says to drink more wine - even she knows that a M2 screw cannot have a 4mm pitch...

As far as I remember M2 has only one pitch.. I have heaps of M2, but not 4mm long - sadly.. I do have longer ones if you want to use a dremel to shorten them.. There is a place up the road that sells them if you need me to collect some for you...

UPDATE: The correct pitch is 0.4mm.. See http://www.metrication.c...engineering/threads.html

Hi Adrian, I spilt the bloody wine before I wrote that question. No wonder I got the decimal point in the wrong place. 0.4 mm it is then. many thanks for the offer to get some for me. I need to work out just what I need and there seem to be plenty on the internet although I think cheese head would be better for this scale.. Posi drive is the best but I would need to buy a miniature screw driver as well.
All the best from Kerikeri

That's good Stuart. It got me checking the screws that hold the bodies on locos as well and they all appear to be the same thread. I can get plenty and I dont have to be too concerned about the ones that get dropped on the carpet from now on. The last one I dropped just vanished!!

Magnets from old Hard Drives are awesome for finding screws in carpets - they are super strong and can drag the screw through the carpet fibres..Huh
