Hello everyone.
Does anyone know what is the average (or exact) power output (in Watt) of the Marklin locomotives? Or, put in a different way, how many amps do the locos draw?

Depends of the speed... And traction power. A motor of today from Märklin should be around 500 milliamp (0,5 A). |

YB My layout is not running right now so I can't provide specific numbers but I am fairly sure that some of my newer locos use much less than 500 milliamps. I have locos and lighted coach sets from the last two years that pull less than 0,2 amps. Of course my older locos with lighted coach rakes sometimes pull over 0,75 amps but I find it amazing how much less power some of the new locos and coaches with LED lighting seem to need. This is also pretty constant across speed ranges BTW. I would be interested to hear what other users have seen on their Märklin trains. |
Regards,
Jim
I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time. |
