I find it interesting that Märklin is making it possible to build an ICE 4 with the full consist of 12 units. But I also wonder how many people have layouts large enough to handle such a massive train, which by my calculation would be 360 cm long. The way they are selling it you could have 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 units, although I suspect that either 5, 8 or 9 units will be the most common.

If you are considering this train, how many units do you plan to buy?
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

The question that I've also asked. Maybe that's why Märklin announces the train a whole year before release.

If I buy it I'll buy all the cars for the complete train. My layout is only 3 meters... In length so it won't run on my layout in a full train but I find it hard to find extra cars when those type of trains has gone out of production. I had problems finding the restaurant car set for my TGV.
