Look at this preproduction prototype of the 3754. It comes from the development department. Must be one of the first versions since it doesn’t fit properly to the frame. No chance to run through a normal circle.
The roofdesign is still from the 3653 version.
Nice to have in my prototype collection and interesting to see how a serialmodell is produced.

Fantastic model! They must be cast in clear plastic material so that they can see if a part or gear is rubbing against the body? Or to easily see the details?

I think it’s mostly to check that there is nothing rubbing while running and that the gap-mass to the frame is correct.
With this first modell the frame is rubbing at the cast- the modell will not run in circles and there is a 3 mm gap between frame and cast at the rear and the front - you could call it a desaster or a „nice try“.

I cannot see how this model ever left the factory - let alone in a labelled production box.

I get the impression this is a body shell that someone has picked up from somewhere else - maybe not even a Marklin shell - and put it on a Marklin chassis, and possibly not the correct chassis for the body hence the apparent problems.

I cannot believe this was ever sent to an 'outside person for evaluation' or any other reason, incorrect items like this get crushed at the factory.

Overall i am very suspicious of this model.
