Hello,

Having just returned to Northern Virginia, I was wondering if there are other Marklin folks in the general vicinity who might want to get together.

All the best,

Steen

Hello Steern,
There are a handful (or more?) folks living in the NORVA/DC/MD area - About 3 or so years ago one of our esteemed members hosted a small get together. I have in the meantime (finally) constructed a layout. If you and any one else are interested in another gathering, I'm happy to host (I live in Burke.) Please PM if there's interest.

Hello,

I would love to attend another get together of local forum members. I'm even up for attempting to get something more formal going, such as a local club.

Sure, living in Silver Spring, is close enough to DC.
Let me know the details and hopefully I can squeeze in.

Thanks.

Steen, Walt, John, happy to host if you all don't mind a somewhat cool, unfinished basement layout to run trains around, at a time that can work for all (or most). Already reconnected with Rob - maybe Peter and Brandon might be interested, or anyone else?

Hello Fred,

Thank you for volunteering to host a local get togther. I recently met John from Silver Spring on the forum, hopefully he will join us as well. We three Marylanders actually could car-pool down I95 to Burke.

I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones!

Count me in as well, I’m in Silver Spring. Maybe down the road I could host a get-together but not just yet.

Another Marylander here. I live in Northern Baltimore County, a few miles North of the crossroads village of Butler, Maryland. My house has a street address on Falls Road (Maryland Route 25). I bought my first Märklin... an M-Track Digital Starter Set... from a shop, since closed, on Falls Road in the Northern part of the City of Baltimore... Antique Train and Toy World.

For the get together, how about either 16 March or 23 March - For general planning purposes, my place is about 15 minutes from 495/95/395 (aka Springfield mixing bowl). PM for details

Hello,

I would like to thank Fred for his hospitality and hosting of yesterday's wonderful get together. A special thank you for his patience is in order, for accommodating my nine year old twins and their trains on his layout. While their interest waned after a while, both Cassie and Didi appreciated seeing their trains run on such a large layout (a first for both of them).

Walter and Steen it was great to meet both of you. I enjoyed seeing all of the loks that you brought to run on Fred's layout. I hope we can repeat an area meet in the not too distant future and I look forward to seeing the three of you again, not to mention hopefully seeing some of the folks who couldn't make it this time.

Regards,
Rob
