Some interesting items there though I shall see what else is being produced before I commit myself. Also Fleischmann is now exclusively N gauge.

A lovely catalogue, but surprisingly there really isn't anything for me in it. Only the Italian wine car. Then again my BLS RE 4/4 will arrive in 2019, so I'm counting that as a 2019 new item :)

Lots of nice stuff, but also lots I already have from prior years being re-released. My one dream was a rerun set of FS gran confort coaches in the "bandiera" livery, but no dice. Perhaps ACME will do them now that they invested in the tooling for the TEE Mediolanum set with same/similar coaches last year

Marklin may get that Ce 6/8I money out of me after all this year...

I just remembered though, Fleischmann are only doing N gauge now!

Might grab the new Roco BR23 though, since its the only era 3a variant (assuming they fix the incorrect icon of triple headlights - description and image states operating condition 1952)

Lots of interesting stuff but I have to choose.

For me it will be the BR515 and BR140.

Pretty nice offerings from Roco. A couple of notes from my personal perspective (Central Europe):

Several nice Polish and Czech electric and diesel locos. Notably the return of the CD RailJet loco (I missed this loco the first time out). Also notable are several CD RailJet sets coming out. The Polish side has the colorful KM commuter train set too. Very nice overall!

I think I'll have to pre-order the RailJet loco - my Piko RailJet loco has coupler issues with the Roco set I have. The set uses a special dropped coupler bar which interferes with the Piko loco shell.

Cheers!

Alas Piko got most of my allowance this year, and Märklin claimed what was left. I'm not trying to hate on Marklin here at all, but once again I thought their offering was "kinda average" and in the case of the ICE 4, a very rushed listing since Piko announced theirs for this year and caught Märklin off guard. After all, why else would you announce in your 2019 catalogue that it's coming out in 2020 and your competitor has already announced release - and earlier.

This way we know Märklin will have the ICE 4 in 2020. Other way we wouldn't know it and could be more tempted to buy the PIKO.
Also the 1:95 scale of Märklin will probably allow a better running in R1 curves. I am not sure if the PIKO will do the same.
All my respect to PIKO ICE 4.

Best regards,
Miguel

I was wondering if Marklin are gauging interest before embarking on the ICE4, and if pre-orders are poor maybe it will be delayed or postponed
Don't look back, your not heading that way.

Well yes, they wanted us to know because Piko had already announced theirs. I'm just saying had Piko not announced, I bet Marklin wasn't going to say anything.

I ordered the Piko ICE 4 so we'll see. I have their ICE 3 and I think it runs great on the R1 curve. Now I am not a fan of the decoder in the ICE 3 however, and I am swapping that out for sure. I have a feeling their ICE 4 from the feedback I've heard is going to be a very nice model - and if not, well time to order the Märklin model BigGrin BigGrin
