Hi Marklin Friends,

I came across this on eBay-DE and was intrigued. Certainly a fairly common item but the box caught my eye. It has a correct early "two child faces" label for the early versions (usually pre-1937 or so). However it has a pink Marklin label that I haven't seen before. On locomotive boxes this would typically be a "20 V" label but here is the term "MARKLIN" ... has anyone seen this before? It is perhaps a replica label that was added?

The box and label look original, with the perforation exactly as Marklin did it during that time frame, but that pink label does not seem familiar to me.

All the best

Paul

Hi Paul, For some reason I'm sure I've seen a label like that before but can't recall where, or it might just be similar.

Will be interesting what other examples are bound to come out now you've raised it.

Cheers

Cool

Using Google, I found an almost similar label: http://uykmje.biz/M%C3%A...V-Spur-312248334134.html

Hi Per,

Thanks for the reply and good find!

Here's the direct link:

That TWE appears to be from the same time period around 1935 so that is a very good clue!
