Hi,

I designed a Culemeyer- trailer for 1- gauge. In the early 1930s the German railway engineer Johann Culemeyer started to develop a trailer-system to transport freight wagons to companies without direct connection to the railway network. His idea was to move the hole wagon to simplify the logistics of these companies. Culemeyer developed several different trailers to transport wagons on streets, also self-driving models. During the 1950s and 1960s more than 150 trailers where in regular service in Germany and served hundreds of companies at about 120 cities.

The model is printed in usual PLA. The wheels are made of TPU, that's an elastic, printable material.

Wow, that is a nice beast. Now for the tractor vehicle BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

These were also used in North Africa during the war to take railroad tankers of fuel from beyond the rail head to the furthest airfields apparently. It was easier to do that than extend the railway into the war zone. I forget where I came across this information, it may have even been on this forum.

Hi Alan,

There is a video showing the service in Africa. Probably you remember this.

The tractor used at 1:35 to haul the locomotive is a British SCAMMELL. The locomotive is one of only three WR 550 D 14 build . The big brother of the well known V36.

Markus
