Markus has kindly identified the top wagon for me as being 320 S

The Gambrinus beer wagon and the Jamaica wagon are marked 324.

Koll's tells me that Gambrinus is 325 and Jamaica is 326 but they are still marked 324, presumably the same casting.

My translation skills are very poor, I know they are not v.3 or v.4 because they do not have brake shoes (bremsbacken).

The difference between v.1 and v.2 seems to be down to the presence of a brake spindle(?) and the couplings 4.2 or 5. Where is the brake spindle?

Am I right in assuming that these are v.2? I'm a bit confused...

Hi Michael,

The brake-spindle is a shaft which goes from the brake wheel (inside the cab) to the chassis. In early versions this is a separate steel wire, on later versions it is shown in the mould of the brake-cab.

This auction shows a car with the separate spindle: https://www.ebay.at/itm/...YAAOSweW5U2421:rk:7:pf:0

Hi Markus,

Thanks for the info, most interesting. My wagons must be v.2 or v.3.

As an aside...do people actually pay those prices?!

Best

Michael

Well...if they want to that's fine by me. Looks like I might have the beginnings of my 3015 acquisition fund here, even though their condition couldn't be called 'mint' even by the standards of some Ebay hopefuls!

Hi Michael,

Don't be impressed to much from that auction. The car is a rare version in a very good condition. Cars in more frequent versions and in more average condition usually reach EUR 50-100. In the market today big surcharges are paid for exceptional condition like in this case.

Regards

Markus

I reckoned that the one in the auction was 326.3 ,mine 326.2. My 1991 Kolls gives all three the same value of 200 dms. I would divide this by four and come up with £50 (in 1991). I suspect the Pound is going down so not that much different to a Euro.

Bearing in mind the book is over 25 years old and my examples are battered I guessed £30 each maybe, perhaps a little more.

Fear not, I won't get too excited it is a long way to a 3015!

Michael
