One dealer (RJFTrains) is reporting that Maerklin is making available a Cookie Tin available in the shape of a classic blue transformer (12490). image008.png
This sounds like a terrific gift for any Maerklin fan.

I do urge that the following caution be taken:

1) In cases where the cookies are old, they may deteriorate and cause a short (cake) circuit.
2) Do not eat cookies while holding the red knob in the reverse position (far left).

and one positive note... This will mark the first time that a Maerklin transformer can be opened and resealed with relative ease.

That said, enjoy the cookies.

This would go very well with my 'chocolate eisenbahn' treat from Winterthur. Thanks for the tip Mike!

Hello Mike,

The Märklin (blue transformer) cookie tin and the Märklin commercial go hand in hand with the Märklin digital 1 starter set. It's being promoted in Germany for the Christmas season.

We were informed about this earlier in the week from Märklin via an Insider Club email.

If you would like please check out these links:

https://www.marklin-user...-of-Marklin-model-trains

Pay attention to the ending ......the Märklin blue transformer.

https://www.maerklin.de/...s/details/article/29013/

I need another Märklin train set like a hole in my head but I'll most likely order this one because of the promotion! This will be my first steamer!

As a footnote to your cautions; Please don't chew on the cord (cookies) when it's plugged in.Flapper

Regards,

Michel

I'm confused about this tin, does it come as a surprise in the starter set, or is it something available separately?

I saw something about this tin somewhere else (but can't track it down now) and two 'catalog numbers' were given for it, one as given here, and one that is longer. Which is the number to order?
