Well another AMRE done and dusted.

This year I decided to take a bit of break and help set up, take down and attend on Sunday morning, hence the small amount of layouts that I videoed and took photos of.

This year not many new layouts and quite a few old ones that either have stayed the same or just been tizzyed up a smidgenBigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

Let's start with the winner of the Member's Judging panel Kapunda (HO scale).

Kapunda is a small country town situated in the mid north of South Australia and the layout is depicted in the 70's and 80's

This layout was also in last year's exhibition, didn't get a chance too get a video, but took some photos.

Not much has changed from last year, although the scenery is quit exceptional, but I wouldn't have given it first prize.

Nice model of the well known Australian style grain tower.

A well known Australian past time, stick a playground next to an old loco.

The next layout depicts central/eastern Tasmania called the Fingal Valley Branch line (HO scale).

From my point of view I felt that the scenery was superior to Kapunda, as it was more detailed and involved and not as sparse as the previous layout.

some detailed scenery

The next layout in my opinion should have won as best on show both by the judges and the public, but then what do I knowConfused Confused Blink Blink RollEyes RollEyes BigGrin BigGrin

This also was a HO scale layout, but this time we are in Victoria, and it is called Town and Country and depicts Victorian life during the 70s and 80s. The suburban houses (all scratch built) are exquisite and the rest of the scenery, including all the catenary, is superbThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp , you might get the feeling that I truly love this layoutLove Love Love BigGrin

Next British layout was Westcombe Junction based on the GWR Line sometime in 1958. It is a work in progress and might be complete by the next exhibition.

The Lego Group was again well represented and I thought their models based on SAR (South Australian Railways) was brilliant.

But first a video showing your typical Lego trains and fairground rides

And now for something completed different in a layout. Trains running around famous land mark models constructed from cardboard. Really well done.
See how many different landmarks you can pick out.

Hope you have enjoyed AMRE 2018, until the next exhibition, where our club layout will be totally different, done by one of our younger members and much smaller.
