I want to see If I can locate the Märklin part. I can't find even find the part number. These are the same handrail I believe that are used on the Orient Express passenger wagons. Here's two pics ahowing the one that's missing and what it looks like. You can see that there are two different styles of handrails with the outermost one having a loop in the design. Thanks for any help provided!

Chuck

I would send an email to service(at)maerklin.de and inclose the photos and ask whether the parts are available.
If they are not available at the factory, you can check with Ritter Restaurationen or with APC-Adams to see if they have the part in stock.

Yes, they are the same as the handrails on my Orient Express coaches. I am missing one from mine as well and I have yet to find a source for them. If I do locate a source for them I will post what I learn.

Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

I just sent a email request to Märklin as Mike recommended. Let's hope that they can help us out. Unsure

I received a automated reply from the service dept. indicating that they received my request, so now the waiting starts. Bored

In my experience that is just part of the Märklin experience, especially outside of Germany, which is a pretty minor part of Märklin's world.

In the past when I've asked a question of the Marklin service department I've received a reply within a few days.

I hope you can get the bits you want from them.
Ray
Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways
Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

I received a reply to my parts request for Märklin today. That was quick! ThumpUp

FYI, this is a copy and paste from the email:

"The desired handrail is available as an accessory set of plug-in parts with the number E176582. Price: RRP 15,00 €"

Very Cool - great news Chuck. BigGrin

You might have to buy this from Europe or maybe Walthers, as parts listed like that have been hard for me to locate from the big online dealers here in North America. Some of the best deals are from ebay sellers in Germany.

I did once have a good experience ordering a part like that from AJCKids, so you might want to send an email to Guy -- service1@ajckids.com. He has been very good about helping me out in the past. Cool

Jim
