I'm hoping some of my knowledgeable colleagues can assist a novice. I am trying to run c-track around a preformed Noch layout "Salzburg" which is presenting a couple of problems with the track geometry. However at the moment I need help with connecting curved points 24672 and a double slip switch 24624 to my CS 2.

I would like to know what is needed to connect both pieces to the CS2, whether I need another transformer, and what wires connect to which apparatus.

Thanks in advance.

The curved points 24672 are manual so you would need a 74491 turnout mechanism and a 74461 decoder. There is also an optional latern kit for these points 74470.

The double slip switch 24624 already has an electric mechanism so it only needs a 74461 decoder.

All the product numbers above are links to the Marklin pages, so you can see the descriptions. On the Marklin pages there are links to the manuals for most of the items so you can see how they are installed. Everything installs below the switches including the wire connections so there is no additional wiring or transformers required. You just need to set some dip swithes and do some programming with the CS2.

Hope this helps,

Harold.

Hi,

You need a motor and and decoder for your points. Do you have these?
https://www.maerklin.de/...ts/details/article/74491 for your 24672s. The 24624 should have one already.
https://www.maerklin.de/...ts/details/article/74461

If you do it is a matter of setting the right address on the decoder as per manual (https://static.maerklin.de/damcontent/5f/60/5f606a769d08c7d6d6463a0f102c1fba1504008312.pdf), you'll then be able to control them from the keyboard page on the CS2.

No wires or transformer needed

Thanks for the response. I’ve had a look at the 24672 which has a factory fitted 74491. So it would appear I only need to fit a 74461. Thank for the tip about fitting a light.

I’ll check 24624 next weekend to see what I need to buy.

Thanks again for the help.

Regards,

John
