Dear sir,
Last week , i have received scale 1 E91 catalog No 5516.
The manual is shown " digital has been set at factory for 16"
It can operate by ac analog perfectly, but can not used with controller#6021.

By the way , i checked in many website, it need 6020 control unit + 6035 control 80 or 6036 control 80f only

Please tell me which one is corrected.

Thank and regards,
ThanethM

Hi ThanethM,

No, that's not correct. If the model still has its original decoder it understands DCC only. It is not compatible with 6020/6021. Märklin sold two DCC - control units in these years: The 6027 and the 6030 (stronger version of 6027). Both can be used with 6035 or 6036.

These components are more or less antique and not easy to get. Today you can use a MS2 (which is capable to send DCC) or another (cheap) DCC-controller. The settings for the locomotive must be set to "DCC14", they do not understand the newer DCC128 standard.

Regards

Markus
