Sure this has been asked many times before but its a new question for me...

I purchased Marklin Great Northern F7 loco #39621. I saw on eBay Trix Great North box cars for sale at a reasonable price.
I understand Trix is a DC/ 2 rail product. What is involved in converting the Trix box car so it can couple and run with my Marklin loco?
Is there a kit I can purchase to make this conversion? If so what is the cost and where could I purchase such a kit?
Thanks
Steve

Most Trix models will include the part numbers to exchange the wheel sets for ones for use with the Maerklin 3 rail AC system. You did not provide the model number, so I can't look it up for you. If you can't find it in the instructions, try googling the model number and AC wheel sets or "Maerklin Radsaetze" which should yield the part number. Then contact your favourite dealer and…

and maybe you will even get the 45561 hopper set too.

For the 4 axle box car, the part number is 32 0551 Märklin AC wheel sets

If the cars come with NEM wheelsets and Trix couplers then you have to do nothing (unless you are using contact tracks which require Märklin wheelsets).

If the cars have RP25 wheelsets and Kadee coupler then you will need new wheelsets and at least one or two new couplers (between first car and loco).
