Hello

This is my first post here.

My problem is that I found on eBay a Marklin 3030 or 3018, I really don't know, because its box is the "bicycle" red one. Can this happen? Does someone know if the 3030 (they say version 3030.2) could be still boxed like this? I thought these boxes were used for the gs800 only. Can someone explain me the realation between the gs800 / 3018 /3030 and the boxes used used for each version?

Thank you for your help!
VMM

Welcome to the forum, 3030 and 3018, these locos had 1 distinctive difference: 3018 = small ASEA logo, pantograph type 6

The headlight parts was different between 3018 and 3030.

First picture is 3018 and second is 3030.

Thank you very much! Now I have no doubt it is a 3018.

Perfect, now I have no doubt it is a 3018 (not a 3030) and the box has a wrong paper label, not original!
Thanks!

Also have a look at this excellent article from the Maerklin Fan Club (Italy). http://www.marklinfan.com/f/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3639 You can use Google's translate to English or Portuguese if your Italian is not so good.

Abracos,

Kurt
