What is the best ideal power output to the track from the digital system?

That's a bit hard to answer but I'll give it a go.

To me, the 'ideal' would be that the same quality and quantity of power should be at the track as there is at the output of the controller.

Anything less would indicate loss somewhere, either due to incorrect wire gauge, or poor connections leading to high resistance.

In the older analogue system, you could answer this easily and say that if there is 16VAC at the Trafo output, then you should have the same at the tracks, and not just the power feed track but across the entire layout - don't rely on track joints to transmit this reliably - you need to support it with feeder wires.

With Digital you can't measure this so easily but so long as your wiring is reliable, and all your connections good quality, you should be able to reach the best possible results.

But maybe I misunderstand your question?

My Lenz digital plus do have 16 volt output to the track, but i can change voltage too by adjust up or down.

Power is a function of voltage multiplied by current. We know voltage is 16v but the current and hence the power would depend on how many trains/accessories you are loading the circuit with.

You could then answer the 'best ideal power' would be a transformer with enough power to supply the required number of trains/accessories...

We know voltage is typically somewhere between 12 V and 22 V.
A CU 6021 fed with 16 V AC will give about 22 V track voltage.
According to Märklin FAQ only 70% of the nominal output wattage of a transformer can be used as track wattage, so the transformer should be bigger than needed for the track wattage. This does not apply to DC power packs.
