Hello All Esteemed collectors,

I will be travelling to the Mondsee (Salzburgerland) region in Austria, this September 2017, and would like to know if any worthy Marklin or Hobby train stores in the region.
I was going to visit the Kleinbahn store in Linz, but that is closed down. They only have 3 stores in Vienna, but not going that far East.
Please let me know if there are any good places. Maybe antiques and used train stores.

Thanks so much in advance.

Walter

If you can get over to Salzburg itself, there is:

Oma's & Opa's Spielzeugladen
Auerspergstrasse 55, 5020 Salzburg
+43 (0)662 876045

I last visited two years ago, so I'd suggest phoning to check whether they still exist if you intend to make a special journey.

There is Rainer in Innsbrucke. When I was there in 1997 the Tourist Information knew where they are. From memory they are in a suburban area rather than the town centre.

Ah, found their web address ...

Awesome!
Thanks so much Carim & Alan.
I will most definitely make those two.
I will also look for more and if any, will post them after I get back.

What I would recommend is to see if you can visit Roco while in the Salzburg area.
It is also not a long trip to Munich where there are some large stores.

Heiss is located in Innsbruck, Museumstrasse 6, in the core area of the city, nice selection.
Enjoy,

Hello Walter,

What shop are you looking for in Salzburg area? For 1:87 or 1:1 train models?

I would recommend both for sightseeing and buy them at home via internet.BigGrin

Here some addresses:

https://www.salzburg.info/en

https://lokwelt.freilassing.de/lokwelt/start/

http://www.hanspeterporsche.com/
(has its own model shop inside).

http://www.bahn-austria.at/linkc_a_sbg.htm

http://www.modellbahn-ba...t/wp/modellbau-produkte/

http://www.hobby-sommer....mp=start.shtml&lg=en

why not a visit at a MRR club near Salzburg?

http://www.smec.at/cms/layout/report.php?id=145

and please read also something in these marklin-users.net threads:

https://www.marklin-user...-Peter-Porsche-Traumwerk

regards

P.S. By the way, Salzburg - Western Austria? RollEyes Never tell it to an Austrian.Wink Because the West in Austria is Bregenz (Vorarlberg) with the Bodensee. About 200 miles (330 km) away from Salzburg and even by car through Germany, you need 3 to 4 hours.

P.P.S.:
Do not forget the Maerklin IMA Days in Goeppingen 15. - 17. September 2017

https://www.maerklin.de/...ma-and-10-maerklin-days/

Only 220 miles away from Salzburg.BigGrin

I just visited Oma's und Opa's in Salzburg today. Coming from the US, I thought I went to Maerklin heaven. They have a whole basement of Maerklin stuffs. My FD was with me so I couldn't stay longer. The owner Erich and I chatted for a while and he is very friendly. I highly recommend this shop.
