Both MHI and Insider locomotives will be 5 years warranty.
The other locomotives/controller etc still 2 years warranty.
For me MHI/Insider nothing found faulty so far but only one 37126 decoder fault and send to marklin and return 4 weeks later, Very satisfied with it. |

I heard some dealers stopping take for repair but You can send fault items direct to Marklin.
Wrote from one Holland dealer - Google translate.
Our Loyal Märklin / Trix Repair-partner keuterman is going to stop! After 35 years of operation with more than 60.000 repairs, the will carry out the final repairs until this autumn.
What does this mean to you?
-- > Warranty repairs of märklin & Trix are to be sent directly to Göppingen (Märklin Factory).
-- > ordering parts will not go any differently, we did this directly at märklin in göppingen.
-- > the conversion of older (analogue) Märklin Locomotives will be carried out on their own. The waiting period of a repair will depend on the number of repairs and the remainder.
-- > have you already got a locomotive in repair? Don't worry because it's just being repaired according to the appointments made!
We want to thank gerrit keuterman and his colleagues very much for the very fine and long-term cooperation in recent years. |

Hi Goofy,
To answer your question I have purchased a few Insider locos. Only one had to be sent back to Marklin. That was #39390 (Insider 2009). Within the first year, part of the valve gear became separated from its pivot point. The loco was sent by my dealer to Goppingen and returned within 8 weeks.
It has not given trouble since. All other Insider locos behave well.

I think his question really is has anyone had any problems arise with Insider Loks during the 5 year warranty period.

Its a shame you did not say so earlier, we could have met and enjoyed a beer and some Marklin chat and run a few locos. Barrow is really quite close. A couple of years ago I too was involved with the Walney project with a former sister company Smulders. Enjoy your trip and I hope the weather stays fine, can be a little rough in the Irish Sea. All the best |

Once again you write something that I simply don't understand. " Stop by fool like belarus", I'm sorry; but it doesn't make any sense to me. I tried to help you, and asked you a simple question; but apparently you don't want to tell me which loco or locos you are referring to. Had you answered my simple, and gently asked, question; everything would have been much easier. Per. P.S: This is Belarus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belarus |

In the meantime you have been writing several times of fools and of Belarus etc.; but not in one single post written anything about the original topic. Per. |

I have locked the topic.
I had no trouble understanding Goofy's question, which PMPeter took the trouble to relay to everyone nearly five days ago. Here is what he wrote, "I don't believe Goofy is referring to any particular Insider Lok. I think his question really is has anyone had any problems arise with Insider Loks during the 5 year warranty period."
Personally, I think that this is a very good question and I am interested in hearing about the experiences of others, who buy Insider Locos.
The Belarus in one of Goofy's posts is a bug in the forum software that, for some unknown reason, randomly swaps the word "us" for "Belarus".
It is my view that there is a level of baiting going on here, which is also known as bullying, and must stop. Bullying is not funny! |

It will be obvious to any regulars on this forum that for Goofy, English is not his first language, and yet he persists, and does quite well. For those of us having English as our first language, some of his sentence structure may not be perfect, sometimes amusing. But that also gives us the advantage of making a pretty good attempt at figuring out what was trying to be said and to respond in kindness, not criticism. It was obvious to me also that Goofy was asking about 'any' loco. Instead of demanding a specific answer, perhaps to respond "do you mean a specific loco, or any loco?" would have been more friendly. In fact, (quote) "it would have been nice " (unquote) to do so. Steve |

Apparently me asking Goofy a simple question is now seen as a personal attack. When I read "Insider lok" in the "5 years warranty"-topic, I were sure Goffy was referring to a lok, not several loks, and I just wanted clarification as to which loco he was writing about. Now it turns out that I should have known, that lok means loks, that "Belarus" is a software error changing the word "us", that asking a question is baiting / bullying, that the way I asked somehow was demanding an answer, and that "do you mean a specific loco, or any loco?" for some reason should be seen as friendly and nice, compared to "Which loco are you talking about ??", which now is seen as the opposite. I'm sorry to say that I knew none of this, that English is also not my first language, and I didn't even know that a topic locked for me allowed for others to rant on about what they think I did wrong, without giving me a chance to answer. I'm well aware that I sometimes make fun with Goofy, mostly when he tries to act like a technical guru on subjects he knows nothing about. One of the reasons for doing this, is that I don't want his misinformation left unanswered, which could lead to problems for others. I hope some of you will try to imagine how the "5 year warranty"-topic would have evolved, if just Goofy would have answered my initial question. Per. Moved Per's post to the relevant thread. /BDNZ |
