Stuttgart is but a short train hop away from Goppingen, and the Marklin factory store. the Marklin store is about 2 or 3 km from the station. Last time I was there, for the 2015 Treff, Goppingen had at least one Marklin dealer in walking distance of the station.

Hi Charles,

You should see: Eisenbahn-Treffpunkt SCHWEICKHARDT, Biegelwiesenstr. 31, 71334 Waiblingen. That's http://modelleisenbahn.com/ .

That's in the suburbs of Stuttgart, but can be reached by public transport in about 30 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof (main-station).

Regards

Markus

Hi,

This does not exist any more. SMDV went into bankruptcy ~2007. Today SMDV is just another brand used by CONRAD for their MRR - business. CONRAD is a well known dealer of electric and electronic equipment in Germany (a German kind of RADIO-SHACK).

Regards

Markus

Hello Charles.

Get a cab and go to the spectacular Such & Find in Stuttgart.

http://suchundfind-stuttgart.de/

10min. from the Main Station.

Mozartstraße 38
70180 Stuttgart

Google Maps

There you need to actually 'search and find' what do you want. It's a second hand shop with books/comics, vinyls, old legos, and plenty of all gauges trains.

Lot of shelves and drawers on several rooms (even the corridors have shelves from the floor to the roof) with all sort of locos and wagons. Digital and analog. All prices are usually low, or at least honest.

I was a lot of times there. Worth a visit.

Cheers,

Walter

This is really the "must see" in the area... Via S bahn it isn't too hard to get to either.
