Does anyone know if there is/was a stand alone, first class SBB 1st Class Express car released that would fit nicely into the 42610 set (3x 2nd class cars). I found a restaurant car to go along, but would like to add a first class car to make a nice set.

Thanks

Hi, I think there may be a typo in your cat number. I think 42610 is a 5 coach DB set

Steve,

I believe that you are referring to the 42160 set of 3 SBB EWIVB (2nd Class) Intercity coaches. The corresponding A coaches were available under the number 42152 (Set of 2). Additionally, a restaurant coach was available as 42174 and a there was a reissue of the 42179 IC Bt pilot coach.
Alternately, you could use one of the EC Apm from the 29463 Set for first class coach.

My current consist is as follows:

Re 460 - EWIV A - Apm - WRm - EWIV B - Bpm - EWIV B - IC Bt
The EWIVA, EWIVB and IC Bt are from the 42164 Set. The additional coaches come from the 29463 Start Set or from 43670/71/72.

Without the IC Bt, the same consist could be pulled by a Re 4/4II or Re 421 on non push-pull routes

Joes Modellbahnlaedle
29463 Coaches (3 - 1 Apm, 2 Bpm) 119,90
42152 Coaches (2 EWIV B) 89,90
42179 Pilot Coach (IC Bt) 80,90

Regards

Yep.. It is 42160.. It's that terrible yank beer that's making you Dyslexic.. You need to come down here and have a XXXX with a bundy chaser to clean out your system... LOL

BTW I have a 42169 set that you could have for a good price.. It looks like this and has a first class wagon and an end car.

Prototype: Swiss Federal Railways (SBB/CFF/FFS) Mark IV cars. 2 type B cars, 2nd class. 1 type A car, 1st class. 1 type Bt EC car, 2nd class with engineer?s cab for push/pull train operation. Current paint and lettering scheme for InterCity trains.

Yeah, sorry all, I did mean 42160 and whilst I'd love to blame typing on the phone, the fact I did it twice kinda suggests otherwise...
