Hi, can anyone tell me about the sleeping car which Marklin produced item number 43252, was used up until the end of the 60s on international trains. Or was it retired before then? Thanks:-)

Prototype: German Sleeping and Dining Car Company (DSG) type WL4üg[e](-39) streamlined express train ("Schürzenwagen") sleeping car. Used in overnight train D 475 that ran in the summer schedule of 1962 between Basle and Westerland (Sylt). Car routing from Frankfurt (Main) via Hannover and Hamburg Altona to Westerland.

This car was used in the summer schedule for 1962 in overnight train D 475. Train D 475 ran at least on a partial route (Hamburg Altona - Westerland) with three sleeping cars.

Model 43252 do have mfx digital functions with lighting, The 43252 will go to 43204 coaches pack. All have Factory-installed LED interior lighting and current-conducting couplers.

I have both three years ago. ->See photo in Topic<

Hi, Dan,

Check the grid above the truck that shows the countries where the dining coach was allowed to operate.
I didn't find a picture with a readable grid, but it looks as if there are many countries on the list.
Does it include Belgium?

Finding routes for a particular country would then be a second step.

Update: Found a picture (scroll down):

Belgium is on the list. Brussels, here we come! (Just ignore the train destination boards.)
Regards
Tom

Well, in the 60's as far as I know most of the DSG sleeping cars were like this:

Somehow no producer managed to make it...
Ep. III (My layout is set in 1962).
I collect mainly DSB, DB and SBB but I'm quite... Open minded.
I'm quite a big collector of NOHAB lok :)
