I have a couple of Era 3/4 tin plate passenger carriages in ÖBB livery. I'd like to set up a consist with them, but of course have no OBB locomotives. So here's my question, does anyone have any good recommendations... Mfx or analogue, electrical preferred over diesel. Any model number suggestions appreciated

Thanks!

I don't know which tinplate ÖBB coaches you have, whether they are the green RIC coaches or the orange and beige Schlieren 4128/4034 (4066 type) ones that Maerklin made as Export models for a few years.
Those coaches can be used with Austrian, Swiss or German locomotives, as they could be found as far outside of Austria as Munich or Sargans/St.Margrethen (CH).

There was the original coach 4033 and the reproduction from the 00776 and 00796 sets:

If you want an ÖBB Lok, you could go for the Maerklin 3066/3166 class 1141 type or the 3159 class 1020, the 3160 class 1043.
For a DB Lok, you could use a 110, 111, BR 194 or other electric
For a SBB Lok, I guess that a Re 4/4I (3014) or Ae 6/6 (3050) or any of the newer generation models of the same types or Re 4/4II.

You can mix the green ÖBB coaches with DB UIC coaches (either blue/green or turquoise/beige)
You could also mix the green ones with SBB 4066 type and 4065 type SNCF coaches to reproduce a tinplate version of the famous Arlberg Express, which went from Paris to Vienna. I think that there were additional SNCF coaches in the 00766 and 00796 sets too.

Thanks Mike.

Yes I could have been a bit more descriptive on the actual tin plates, I have both the remake 00766 and the original 4033

I wou;d try to find one or two of the SNCF coaches and run it as the Arlberg Express, or add one or two DB coaches and run it as a Munich-Innsbruck train/
