Hi everyone

I just need someone to clarify for me wether or not you can program signals

I have read the instructions but they aren't helpful

I did see an article from Marklin magazine that said you could do it

Has any one actually tried to do it and did you succeed

Hi!
There are so many different signals. Would you give some ref. numbers so we know which class of signals this question (without any question marks) is about?
Regards
Tom

Depends what type of signal you have.
Märklins mfx/DCC digital signal can been program easy with MS2.
Just follow step by step in the manual.
Analog light signals like Viessmann can been connect with k84 or m84.
Viessmann do also have signals modul and digital signals.
All of them can been program with MS2.

DCC = Digital Command Control

I was looking at using the Viessman signals Cat No 45 ( 01 ), (02 ) & (03 ) signals and the associated warning signal

You need appropriate decoders to operate those signals with an MS2.
And there should not be any problems if the decoders are compatible with the MS2. Almost any decoders for DCC or MM should do.

The programming (setting of CV values to modify the behavior, or address) happens on the digital decoder element. If that is built into the signal, thats what you program, if its an external unit (like an M or K decoder) then you program that unit and there isn't anything to program on the signal itself. The programming via DCC or MM protocols should be doable via a Mobile Station 2.
