I'm looking for "modern" (CIWL and DSG) sleeping cars type U, P or similar which are shorter than the standard one made, for example, by ACME or else... Something of the same lenght as the Marklin one (1:93,5).

Any ideas?

I know that Fleischmann at some point had a model of the WLAB4üm of the DSG under the number 5607. The model was 282mm long (1:93.5). Kleinbahn had a reduced scale length model of the Type P (model 385). Maerklin had the 27cm TEN sleepers (T2S). I'm pretty sure that Lima also had some 27cm sleepers. Roco's UH model is shorter than 26,4m (1:1) and would come in at around 28cm in exact scale 1:87. Maerklin has a tinplate 24cm DSG Type U (on special at Schweickhardt). Roco had a 264mm version of the same coach, of which I have the SBB version. The DB (DSG) version was 4260C I think.

Hi,
I am not sure if this model suits, because it is made of sheet metal.
Some were made with cellophane windows, and later were made with plastic windows, with frames, like in the picture below.

This model does have a real prototype. Märklin model #4029 carries the running number 4581, and both the CIWL and ISG names on the headboard above the windows.
4581 was the first of the U class sleepers (often called reparations cars) built by German builders Hansa Waggonbau, Bremen, Germany, and Donauworth. 39 of these new 25.1 metre new design all-steel cars of Class U (Universal), in the traditional dark blue of the CIWL, were completed from 1957. They were designed with a particularly high roof line, to better use the space for multiple level bed arrangements.

The destination board reads Koln-Basel-Roma, but I am not sure for what train this model was intended.
