Hey again Gentlemen,
Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere.
My general search didn't turn up anything. I admit I may not have been searching correctly.

My question is this:
Has anyone made a model in HO AC(aka Marklin system) of the DR18 201 steam engine? Especially in that terrific looking green.

The streamlined BR10s are similar but fairly different.

Thanks for any info

Roco made several versions of this loco in green and in red, some with the number 02 0201.
You can get a second tender for some of them.

A black one (78247) is a 2017 new item:

See eBay for older livery variations.

I thought Roco had made a 3 rail version of this loco, among the myriad variations they have done, possibly with the second tender.

There are six three-rail versions listed in the Wiki.
You can tell them from the "WS" mark (German for AC). "WS/MM" are digital versions.
Insiders know that the 69xxx/68xxx/79xxx/78xxx numbers from Roco are three-rail locos.

I searched all the item numbers for 3 rail AC and only found one, an Ebay seller, modellbahnshop-stuttgart who have a 69201.
I'm very tempted to bid but a little nervous since I have never bought from Germany.

Roco is issuing a black 3-rail version of the 18201. See on p.13 of thier 2017 new items catalog.

As for me to drop this retailer, take a new one at Lippe, very reliable. If you are in no hurry, keep your money for another opportunity. I have one 18 201 somewhere, soI am unable to see if it is a full detailed engine.
