Hi.

All they are saying in the Marklin announcements is "New generation motor" it is not saying five pole or anything like that. There will be a railbus with this motor and a little steamer br 80 or something similar to the 89 and a V80, Kittel, and perhaps more with this motor. But that is about all I can relay to you right now. Maybe the new motor is coreless hard to say. I have heard some say why fix it if it is not broken. We will have to wait. Perhaps some vendors have more info.

Dwight

Hi!

There is a German post on Stummi's Forum showing what's inside:
http://stummiforum.de/vi...pic.php?f=3&t=146492

As I understand it the new motors are "maintenance-free" (i.e. throw the motor away when the brushes are worn) and glued in.

It is a five-pole motor. Motors usually have an odd number of poles.
The are some Märklin H0 models with "six-pole motors" (they have two motors with three poles each).
Regards
Tom

Excellent up date , Not sure I agree with Marklin's going that direction . then i guess it's called progress . But point seems is to stop competition through a major source of computation. Cheap quality never works well for either side just make some thing cheap . The supposed opposition to e-bay won't work to many Markiln Z'ers will keep it going just like here. Thanks for all updates Ben
