I have a number of Marklin coaches I need to open to install lighting. I have a Marklin 4283 and need to know how to take the shell off. Can anybody advise how to open the coach

This is the regular procedure for most coaches with close-couplers (mostly 42XX(x), 43XX(x)). At the older series without closer-coupler (mostly 40XX, 41XX) you find screws on the underside at the ends of the coaches. But there are some rare exceptions. For example at the "Umbauwagen" (for example 41320) you must remove the roof.
