Dear All

I know it's a long shot, but I am trying to obtain a Marklin replacement motor, original part number 689360 for Kittel steam railcar no 3425.
This is the small DC motor fitted to the Kittel steam railcar no 3425 which was produced during the 90s. I understand that later versions of the Kittel have a different motor arrangement.

Marklin don't have any spares for this model so I am stuck.
Do you know of anywhere I could try who might possible have one on a shelf somewhere, as there are very few suppliers of Marklin in the UK.
I'd be most grateful if you can help, as my motor is faulty and unusable and it's a great shame as the model is in mint condition externally.

Yours sincerely

You can try Ritter Restaurationen in Germany. Even if Maerklin does not have an item listed on their webshop, they still might have quantities set aside for internal repairs. I would send an email to service(at)maerklin.de to see whether they can help. AFAIR this model was actually made for Maerklin by Trix.
If you cannot source the original parts, there are companies like SB-Modellbau that might be able to help: http://www.sb-modellbau.com/index.php?cPath=138

I hope that this information helps

Dear Mike C

Thanks for such a rapid response.

I have a friend in the UK who has already offered to try the Maerklin Service Dept. for me.

I will follow up your other suggestions and let you know in due course if I have any luck.

Many thanks

Hi Robert,

The name of the company escapes me at the moment, but on eBay.de I have seen an Italian company which claims to have an enormous amount of Marklin spare parts.

Maybe someone else here knows the company I am talking about.....
