Hello Ramprasad,
The lok started out as a mid to late 60's 3047 br44.
It was a gift from my grandfather for my 3rd or 4th birthday. In the late 70's I did my best to kitbash it into a br52 as marklin did not produce such a model at that time. I stole the tender from a p-8, enclosed the cab and gave it a heavily weathered black/red paint job. Later on in life it received another black/red scheme with no weathering.
One evening round 1995 after consuming a fair amount of Bacardi, I decided to introduce the old girl to the Bavarian color of the day. It was all done by hand with hobby brushes and Testor's paints. I think the boiler must be 1/2'' larger than when the lok was new from all the paint on it.
Do I have regrets? Yes. But that old girl never seemed to mind. She runs just as smooth as ever. I think there must be a million miles on it and it's just getting broken in!
A testament to the quality of these old toys.

Mikey
