Now works with update 1.2.0 (Beta 3) update

Reviewing the 7686/7 Turntable alonside what the CS3* currently offers (1.2.0(4) ), it occurs to me that their are 2 new aspects to consider.
A) The graphical representation of the location - which can be overcome with programming
B) The feedback of location for freelance mode - which cannot be overcome with programming alone and requires additional hardware

A) Re: Graphical Representation
Unlike the 6040/CS2-Keyboard, which had no concept of which track was where, only that it had a logical position (1 to 24), The CS3* is attempting to represent this graphically.

The only way that this has a chance of working is if the CS3* is programmed with exactly the same information that is sent to the decoder.
Because the CS3* cannot read the decoder (yet?) it makes sense that the CS3* programming of the turntable be recorded at the same time as you program the decoder itself (with the Input, step ... end process)

One day an update to the software may support this

HOWEVER , for even this sync'd configuration it is impossible to maintain 100% integrity in operation?
To cater for operating the turntable in freelance mode, where you hold the step button down until you, the operator, sees the turntable at a particular location you need to know how many physical spoke tracks are being passed. While the CS3* knows you have been holding the button down how can it know with 100% where you actually stopped the bridge deck?


Assuming the original configuration is in sync, then the CS3* should be able to handle (graphically) the "Turn" function which is currently also missing.

It is quite unclear to me, how the circular graphic can be offered with no other option unless both parts (A nd B above) are readily available from the get-go.

Even if Marklin offer a new mFX variant of the turntable decoder that can feedback a position, I can only expect that they still need to offer a CS2 display variant (maybe with only the number of out-tracks as defined) for legacy support. An interim solution might be a convoluted deployment of S88 type sensors - however, to feed into the graphical wheel there would still need to be some specialised programming.
Parallel with this is peer monitoring of accessory activity triggered by slaved PCs, CS2s, MS2s, 6040s

For now, I can only think that the next step is to lobby Marklin to offer the legacy 6040/CS2-Keyboard offering

But we have no description for this.

It should be great if development effort will start fixing old items like turntable instead cabin view for new engines
