Hello all,
I would like to find coaches suitable to complement my earlier F7 locomotives. I tried a few Fleischmann metal coaches but the metal couplers dragged and didn't fit well with Relex. Does anyone have experience with a maker of US based coaches (IE Union Pacific, New Haven), with NEM pockets and able to negotiate a mixture of M and K track? Thank you.

I never had any of the Maerklin North American locomotives. As far as coaches, it would depend on the type of track radii you have. You could possibly check out some of the offerings from Rivarossi from back in the day. You may also consider testing one coach from other manufacturers, before you go and buy a whole consist.

Some of the longer coaches might have issues with the turnout lanterns, catenary masts and other parts of a Marklin layout.

Regards

Forum member Alberto Pedrini has a collection of US coaches and thus experience:

I am running Santa Fe streamliner coaches by Maerklin and Frateschi of Brazil. The latter are coupling (sporting Maerklin style couplers) and running well on C-track (all radii and turnouts), too.

Train Store Wellig in Switzerland is shipping Frateschi overseas:
