Having just come back I appear to be overdoing the questions lol.
Just installed my fourth shuttle on the layout (several years since the others were installed) Loco works fine but when coaches are added it stops where the coach reaches the contact area and the loco then just goes back and forwarded a few inches.
Having forgotten what I did with the other shuttle routes where am I going wrong now ?
Maybe at my age changing the layout was not a great idea. Any help much appreciated.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

This is indicative of a shuttle setup using contact track - e.g. 24995 (isolated rail that is bridged by an axle) when, on a CS2, you have ....
- contact bounces - due to dirty track or physically not in contact
- the detection section is shorter than the span of the wagons axle spacing
- you use 2 rail wagons (DC wheel-set, with isolated wheels), in the middle of a consist.

Unlike the CS1, the CS2 implementation of the shuttle is not tolerant to these bounces.
The best suggestion is to extend your detection track.

If you are using circuit tracks (shoe triggered e.g. 24994) , then you must ensure that the 2 directional indicators are NOT wired together. You must only get a pulse when going in one directions.
Poorly adjusted contact track mechanisms (the level that the shoe hits) may spring back and cause a false pulse in the other direction.

Reed switches on a CS2 shuttle will not work without additional logic
Peter

Thanks Peter. I am using 24995 which is easy to connect to a S88. Will go through the above suggestions.
