Hi,

I would like to share this short film with you.
Unfortunately it is only in Finnish language.
Also a shunting yard can be seen in action where wagons roll down a slope.

Hi Åke
Interesting video thanks.
So different to Australia, loading in the snow.
I wonder what was in the bags starting at about 5:00?

Some years ago, friends at university asked me what I did to relax.
I watch videos of trains shunting, I said.
Wow, did I get some strange looks.....

Hi Kimball,

Hard to say. Contents could be grain, cement, seeds...

There are more interesting videos in the YLE Areena.
You just type "rautatie" to the search panel at http://areena.yle.fi/tv

One more "People and raiways" http://areena.yle.fi/1-1479964?autoplay=true

Cheers

It might be of interest to mention that in Finnish 'rauta' means iron, and 'tie' means road.
So that 'rautatie' is just the good old Chemin de Fer or Eisenbahn in disguise, so to speak BigGrin
