I have a 3021 heavy diesel (as I'm sure everyone does), and the wheels in the powered truck have come loose from the gears. In other words, I can spin the drive wheel without the mechanism moving. Obviously, this is a problem when trying to generate any type of progress, forward or reverse.
The assembly appears to be press-fitted together, but through the years, all the connection points are loose. I'm having a difficult time trying to find replacement parts online.
Is there a way to repair this problem, or am I stuck trying to locate a donor loc (with possibly similar issues)? Super glue maybe?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. Brian

If you know what parts are needed, the Lokshop, referred often here, can be of help.
Our local experts on this list will further elaborate other steps, local and otherwise.
I have one of those sick puppies also, acquired on Ebay many years, and never got around to having it fixed/serviced. I have a bunch of analogue loks, but I will never update them to digital. since the digital versions are so much nicer.
Have fun,
Regards, gene

Hi Brian, Not any "super glue" but LOCTITE 648. LOCTITE 648 is a special glue for wheels on axles and is suitable for zinc/steel as well as steel/steel. It does not react instantly, so it gives you some time to adjust the wheel. Datasheet: http://www.loctite.sg/se...8_Retaining_Compound.pdf Regards Markus

Don't use super glue. I used it on a br 23 with the same problem you have. It only held for a little while. I will try the locktite 648. Thanx, Mikey |
I love the smell of smoke fluid in the morning . |
