This is not the first time that I have seen a Maerklin box without the Maerklin name on it. Most of them have been on ebay.
This one also looks the same: http://www.ebay.de/itm/M...03-SELTEN-/361522272723?

Regards

Yes, I think I might have seen them before but it was getting hard to differentiate what could have been my imagination vs reality, thank you for the link.

Hi,

The missing Märklin logo on some light blue 3053 boxes was the result of a well-known misprint in the 1960s. Märklin used to order boxes from printing shops on a regular basis, but one day they received a shipment and noticed the error mentioned above. Nevertheless, they just put the locomotives inside and delivered them to shops regardless because demand for the 3053 TEE locomotive was so high in the second half of the 1960s that there was no time to order new boxes.

Best regards,
Mark
Best regards, Mark

I like Märklin items produced in the 1960s or early '70s, but also digital locos & current rolling stock.
