I purchased Marklin Info Tag 2015 number 48335 -- I need to know the Marklin part number for the DC wheelset for this model.
The wheelset I need is 12.1mm in diameter, the ends of the axle are stepped, sometimes called a needle end.

Does anyone know the part number for the DC wheelset that I need?

The Marklin hopper car 4624 is basically the same as your car 48335.
The replacing DC wheelset for the 4624 is 700580.
You need 4 of them, they are sold per piece.
Going price overhere is Euro 3.00 each.

The innerdiameter between the flanges is 14 mm.
The diameter of the inner wheel flange is 9 mm.
And yes, they have a pinned end.

Is there no box with leaflet with the car?
If there is a leaflet,it should tell you about basic replacement parts, including the DC wheelset.

Hi,

The box for my 48335 has a label that shows the DC wheelset to be 700580.

However, when I removed the wheelsets that came with the car, they are 12.1 mm in diameter
and they have blunt ends, not a stepped end or a tapered end. The wheelset appears to be
the very old design.

The 700580 wheelset is 10.4 mm in diameter and has a tapered end.

The label on the box is wrong. So, does anyone know the DC equivalent for a 12.1 mm blunt end wheelset?

thanks
brh

How can the axles have blunt ends?
What is keeping them attached to the car?
For Marklin it is very common to use axles with pinned ends.
These pins fit into small holes on the inside of the wheelframes.
Use a torch to look for these small holes.
These hopper cars have been produced over decades in all sorts of versions, open roof, closed roof, various roadnames.
I cannot imagine Marklin would change the fitting of the axles just for a special model like this,it would be too costly.
If the wheels are not being kept on the car by pins, the only other option is that they are clamped in the middle to the wheelframe, which would be very much unlike Marklin!

I have the 4691 Juracement Swiss version of this hopper and it certainly has pinned axles!

I still believe you need the 700580 DC wheelsets.

The sets with blund ends were used between 1935 and 1954.
The sets with stepped ends were used from 1955 onwards.
The sets with tapered (spiked) ends were used from 1976 onwards.

The diamensions for all are the same.
Wheel (without the flange) diameter is 0.406 inches (10 mm).
Axle length end to end is 0.961 inches (24.4 mm).
