Hi! I put together a video tutorial on how to make model trees based on the flower from the Spirea bush. The trees are real easy to make and the process takes less than a minute in average if you make them in batches of 100pcs. I made a lot of these to have as "the general tree" on my layout. Hope you find the tutorial intresting. :) Wish all a nice weekend! |

FD nearly fainted when she saw all that Gin go into the bucket and then be drowned in tree bits.. "There ought to be a law against that.", she says.. Personally, I think that is is a very clever way to make model trees.. Well done.. |

Great idea Martin and thanks for sharing.
You don't need to coat them in something to prevent them from drying off and the leaves falling off? Or is that what the softening does?

Hehe! Poured in the Gin to get some reactions.. Seems to have succeeded in that! Tell FD that the bottle only contained water and was for film-purposes only. The Gin went down into my Mojito and not in the bucket! Allright.. Lasse.. Yes, I sometimes fix the foliage with hair spray. I sometimes also have to spray with deluted white glue and then add some green turf afterwards. This makes the trees blend better with the "artificial" ones and the foliage more dense. I have at one point in time had problems with fungus growth on these trees. It might therefore also be a good idea to let them stay in a mix of Cloride/water for 24h, before I let then dry on the paper.. |

One can use same method for making Birch and Aspen trees too. Just by using other colors for the stem and the foliage... |
