Hi ! Yes there are some more pictures....  About 40 km north of Freiburg, Germany, in the Rhine valley is a small town called Lahr where the Faller B-929 is located. Unfortunatley it was so many houses nearby, that it was hard to find a good place for an overwiev, but here are some pictures Fallerfreak attached the following image(s):

This picture should have been with the other pictures from Gutenbach. Outside the Faller factory there was an AMS Trailer 4872. The drawing in the Faller catalouge always had this cover too. Fallerfreak attached the following image(s):

Hi , As a long time Faller  lover too I must thank you for this topic! It is very original. I was laughing a bit to myself that it would be quite funny if all of Gutenbachs' buildings had Faller Catalog numbers on them instead of addresses.  Peter

In the Rhine valley near Heidelberg is a small town called Weinheim. There you'll find the Faller item B-928 ¨Volksbank. Only difference from the original is that there has been built an entrance in glass, that was not there in 1966 when this model first appears in the Faller catalouge. Many years later Faller re-issued this model as ¨Hotel Prague ¨in their TT-assortment Fallerfreak attached the following image(s):

The only thing that could sweeten the deal of seeing these photos is to know the exact location and the date the buildings were constructed.
... do you have location for all of these listed here?
This would make a great coffee book, really good photos of the buildings and the models with history of both of them written up beside.
Thinking mostly of Villa B-271... I see now you mention that it is in Gutenbach as well.
No idea on the dates of constuction?
This is a classic model that I still have from my train set in the 70s.
But I think my Dad actually built the kit in the 60s

In late August and early September I spent some weeks in Alsace, but I also made trips across the border and one place I visited was Freiburg im Breisgau. This tower is in that city:  Link to Faller's catalogue pictureThe model is still available and it's number is 130922. Another model which I believe has a real building as its prototype is house on a tower top. This house has earlier been available as a different model, but the only difference is the base of the tower. It is based on building being part of the city wall of one of the towns on the Romatische Strasse that goes between Würzburg and Füssen near the Austrian border, but I cannot recall if it was Rotenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl or any of the other towns on the stretch between Würzburg and Augsburg. Perhaps somebody who has visited the town can help out.

The other tower is located in Dinkelsbühl, Bäuerlinsturm . This tower is one of the buildings in the B-931 set. When you were in Freiburg/Breisgau did you happen to see the B214/215 Gas station? I´ve heard that it is/was located in Freiburg/Breisgau. Maybe Fallerfreak can give us the correct info about it. /Mats Edited by moderator 18 December 2012 18:48:05(UTC)

Unfortunatley I have no idea about where the B-214 /215 can be found..... But let's take a trip to Dinkelbuhl, situated just south-east of the Autobahnkreuz A6 / A7 in the south of Germany. here you find, as Mats mentioned, one of the 4 houses in the set B-931; B-935. The painting is not the same as when Faller made the model 1966, but otherwise it's very close to the real house Fallerfreak attached the following image(s):

Let's continue our trip to the famous town Rothenburg -an- der-Tauber. This medieval town is full of wonderful old half-timbered houses, and one of the most beautiful is Nusch Weinstube, Faller B-933. In the background you can also see a part of the old town gate, that has some resemblance to the Faller city gate B-921, but it's a bit too tall compared to the Faller model. I you walk through the gate and look at the tower from the other side, you'll get a better view Fallerfreak attached the following image(s):

The last stop on this trip through Faller Country in Germany is Nurnberg in Bavaria. Here, right in the middle of the old city center, you find the famous Durer House, Faller B-932. The house is very old, see info in one of the pictures. Albrecht Durer was a famous German artist who was born in this house. Maybe there will be furher pictures of some other Faller houses on future trips to Germany. But this was all for now, and I would like to wish all Faller friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! In 2013 The Faller AMS will celebrate it's 50'th birthday as it was introduced on the Nurnberg Toy Fair in february 1963. The photo's are fantastic, you are very dedicated to take these photos. One day I hope to visit this village and look at the Faller Factory. I have heard it has a small retail shop in the complex, but not much else in the way of a museum or any chance to visit the factory facilities, is this correct? Hi ariete These pictures were shot in 2001, it's now almost 12 years ago. They have a museum but it contains mostly a display of their current production. You can also buy some stuff at a small retail shop. We did not get a chance to see anything inside the factory back then, maybe that's changed nowadays? But anyway it's well worth the effort to see Gutenbach, and the surroundings. The Donau starts in the mountains just a few kilometers north of Gutenbach for instance....And there is a small village, Triberg, where they make cockoo-clocks nearby And don't forget...today's the exact day for Faller AMS 50 years! /Fallerfreak BTW Thanks for posting this. Are you sure you don't work for Faller? This post inspired me to pick up Faller B-932 from Ebay.de. Arrived a couple weeks ago! If you find anymore photos of real Faller prototypes/real life buildings please do post. Another surviving 87:1 model is the Bad Durkheim Wein Stube. I think it was at one one time the biggest barrel in the world.
It is situated near Neustadt an Der Weinstrasse.

And here is another real-life version of a Faller model: The 120122 signal tower "Konstanz". The signal tower was originally placed in Konstanz at the Bodensee, but was later moved to Blumberg-Zollhaus at the south-east corner of the Black Forest. Blumberg-Zollhaus is the terminal station for the famous Wutachtalbahn, also called Sauschwäntzlebahn.    Edited by user 15 March 2013 19:42:11(UTC)
