Hi all,

Here we have some photo's of my 45 year old, 1967 (same age as my Pontiac Firebird.) BR89 3000.

I bought her along with the other boxed Loco's in the first photo, and also the Hornby Tinplate Set and O gauge clockwork Set, all from the same seller. The BR89 was a bargain, she cost me £12. (14.4 Euro's)

Ian.

Hi Ian, she looks like she's never been run!

£12 is a steal! I would pay that much just for a box in that condition! BigGrin

Hi Ray,

Thanks. ThumpUp

I paid £74 for the 3 of them, in as new condition, but, with no instructions in the box. Smile

Hi all,

Here's a video of my BR89 having her first run here on the layout.

This is how she ran, straight out of the box.

She has my 1965 V200 for some company, since she's only "little". Smile

Ian.

No problem they look great. I love buying the older engines and or seeing them bought by people on here, it is nice to see them being appreciated. They are such good running engines.

Hi Chris,

At the moment, I'm buying myself more analog Loco's than digital one's. Smile ThumpUp

Hi Ian,

Your 3000 looks from the photos to be in very good shape and yet the individual number and DB logo are missing on the sides of the cab. Any comments on this? Was there series made like that by Märklin?

My very old, in fact my first Märklin lok, from a starter set, is either a 3000 or CEM 800 with individual number 89005 and has two lamps only, but it has letterings on the sides of the cab. (The fact that my more recent 30000 has got it, goes without saying).

Hi Per,

I have another 4 BR89's and yes, they all have a logo there.

This Loco looks like it's never been there, on either side, so sorry, no explanation I'm afraid.

The Loco's running number is 89006, and I have another unboxed BR89 with that number and it has a raised logo to both sides.

Maybe, some forum members can help.

Ian.
