I recently purchased a Marklin Gantry Crane # 76500 (or Trix # 66105), under factory warranty.

Been working on this all day and cannot get the crane to operate, although the gantry works OK.

I changed the pick-up slider shoes on each side of the crane; checked the gears to make sure they weren't binding; placed some Kapton tape in areas where it could be shorting out; made sure the receiver and controller were synchronized (gantry works); nothing seems to be making any difference, crane will not function.....thinking it may be with the electrical board or decoder??

Decoder # for the crane is 609187; circuit board is 313432 ( 2 each).

I was talking to Ken at Walthers and he feels it is a bad decoder, which would have to serviced under warranty back in Germany, would be over 2 months before any progress.

Anyone in the states that can repair/replace the decoder for the crane or even have the parts?? or try to convert Crane to DCC???

Any suggestions.
