Now that the 2010 New Item list has been released, it is that time of the year again to pop the question...

Post your wishlist, or what you want to buy this year here!
(Ok, some of us has posted all over the other threads - but feel free to re-post them here..)
Cool

Of course, some of us would still be catching up on previous year's buy list..

I will order the BR 03.10 insider loc (37915) and the insider carset (43969).

I consider the following models

37105 BR01.10 Bellingrodt. It is an older model (37102, 39104 en 39104), but another pacific is nice. I don't expect too much details compared to the already mentioned items
45251, epoche I beercarset. The price is quit steep, over 200 euros.
Maybe 47453, an other version of the BR45, with MFX decoder and a glockenanker motor.

37524 PRR F7
37976 PRR Mikado

In case of extra money I´ll also buy
47723 Container-Tragwagen-Set Lgjs, SJ

Planned shopping List from 2010 New Items;

More certain to buy:
26557 TEE Bavaria set w/ 2nd gen Re4/4 I
37116 BR18.1
37453 BR45 (Era II version)
39646 BR64 (Price for this model should dip below 200 Eur w/o VAT; which make it an excellent value for money!)
43670 SBB EC coach set
One or two Taurii out of the three (39836/39837/39838)that will be available this year (undecided yet)

On hold as options:
37321 Re6/6 "Auvernier"
37360 Ae6/6 "Landquart"
37790 TGV POS

Since I just got the ICE-3 last year, I might not buy the TGV until at least middle of next year.. besides, most of my resources would go into steamers this year. Still got that BR23 to get too..

I still like to get the Ae6/6 37360 and Re6/6 37321 in SBB Cargo livery (one of my favorite colour scheme) - but I'm unsure about committing over 200 Euros for each of these two models with DCM propulsion; when I can still get a 39640 or 39235 steamers with way more details and SDS for about the same price... Arrgh....Crying

There are many items I'd like to buy but unfortunately I cannot really buy any since I must save for a house deposit.
And housing prices here are ridiculous, so I cannot afford luxuries like model trains.

though I am oh so tempted to get the new era3 starter set with 2 locos and the new central station:D

I have three lists in mind:

- these are the ones I will have;
37320 Re 10/10
37321 Re 620
37790 + 43420/30/40 = the whole TGV set
26557 SBB TEE train
43670 SBB EuroCity coaches
36606 SBB Re 482 Cargo

- these are the ones I will work hard to get (that means maybe buying a nice ring for the "boss" so that she looks the other way when the boxes show up)
29814 - mega starter set SBB with CS2
37513 - Ae 3/6 II
37360 - Ae 610

- these are the ones I will get if I win the lottery (or if the "boss" gives me back the ring and says that she loves me anyway and I can spend it to get more trains)
26560 - Stahlzug
37726 - PRR L-1
45642 - freight car set for the above

I am looking to get two or three more Loks with sound. I currently have three with full sound functions and one with only a horn. The constraint is they are EXPENSIVE. However, something will happen. Not sure which models either since I like all of them.

Hi guys & girls

It was a pleasant surprise to see the 2010 new items catalogue. After last year i thought it was going to be boring and dull. My impression: Marklin is listening to what we want!

Already placed my order for:
37453 BR45
37967 BR96 (Gt 2x4/4)
37283 V188
37624 General motors EMD F7

Would have liked to see the Ae8/14 in the list, maybe nexy year, i can wait. BigGrin

My budget for the year is accounted for; life is not fair, the list is way to short.

Tom, where did you get the prices for your list? Lokshop does not list prices yet.

Cheers

I really have no idea. I have almost every steamer from Marklin.
Maybe the br 45 steamer. But 400 euro is the limit I have made for buying a steamer.
Our the br 18,1 but I already have two.

The insiderloc 2010 is a must have.
Maybe the railzeppelin.
The V140 I have this loc in red with the same number. I will never buy a loc a second time with the same number.

So I have to think it over. I will not buy for more then 1000 euro this year.

I can't afford to buy all the above, so to narrow it down I checked the delivery dates for all my list, and I have decided on one loco or set from each quarter. That will make 4 new locos/sets from the list

Q1 E44
Q2 Glaskasten set
Q3 Glass train
Q4 Bavaria set

I will also get the cheap T3 and the interregio coaches to go with those I've already bought this year.

Last year I ended up adding two more locos from the Summer new items as well!

After a careful re-think, I don't think I would want to spend 410 Euros (estimated w/o VAT) for 37453.. The 37452 Bellingrodt edition was sold for more than 50 Euros cheaper and given us a "bonus" display box... Crying

This would mean more than certain that I would have enough funds to cover the acquisition of the two Taurus loks this year.

The 36424 (Ludmilla) with sounds looks like fun to me. Another thought would be to get the set that includes the steel transports.

The key element will be what happens when the $TBD$ gets replaced with real numbers.

From the news-list; Definatly NOTHING!
There are some very nice items, sure, but from previous experience I know that almost none will work well on my layout.

I will certainly be buying more new K-track (Still need for around 1000 bucks) -and summer-vacations usually produce another loco and a string of waggons (second-hand though)

Hi Henrik,

I know you have an issue with the analogue running of SDS locos, but many of the new items have small can motors with flywheels instead. Don't these run well in analogue?

Hi All,

I have decided to purchase the Marklin 30210 DB V 200.0 reproduction classic sometime this year. I had owned the original Marklin 3021 in the early sixties, but unfortunately, it was destroyed due to bad handling as a younster and also due to extreme weather conditions in Chennai, India. I am glad that Marklin is re-introducing this fine locomotive again.

It seems that only Steven (Steventrain) is the other person who is interested in this locomotive.

Cheers,
Ranjit

I know you have an issue with the analogue running of SDS locos, but many of the new items have small can motors with flywheels instead. Don't these run well in analogue?

I wish I could round the problems down to something more specific.
SDS (I have an E50) is absolutly the WORST for my layout, but even the V80 doesnt run too well.
-But I cant conclude that is is only because of worm-drives, because I have a Roco croc (digital even) that runs like a dream!

Old 3-pole alstrohm-motor powered locos are my safest bet (excellent characteristics on my layout) -and exist in numerous variations, quantities and at excellent prices. Why chance it with something new and expensive then? ;-)

To get back on topic; Yes, I could be tempted by new can-motor powered locos that doesnt use worm-gears!
It is clearly marked what type of motor a loco use, but it is not always clear (by description) what kind of drive it uses.

I'm hoping to buy the following: 30210 V200 replica (unless it's way too expensive, anyone know how much it will cost?)
Some of the 00796 Tin plate carriages to go with the above.(I'm surprised nobody has mentioned these already!)
37573 Br 103 + 43927 Beethoven car set
and the 37010 Br 110.3
The new TEE Bavaria looks great too, but I won't be able to afford all of the things. Some of the 2010 items are really exciting, and I'm really pleased that Marklin are offering more sets of freight carriages which makes it much easier to come up with prototypical consists. The one with the Wood transport and the Austrian set come to mind.

The 36424 (Ludmilla) with sounds looks like fun to me. Another thought would be to get the set that includes the steel transports.

The key element will be what happens when the $TBD$ gets replaced with real numbers.

I have 36420, I understand that 36424/26560 have the same loco but mfx+sound. I am also interested in the 26560 set, if the price is right.

Euro 199.95 see above! Of course real prices in the shops will be lower, up to 20% maybe.

This is a very interesting modelling year for me as I have seen among the new items, one of the locs I have asked for during the M* Days in Goeppingen in September by filling in one of the wish cards that were offered to visitors. I asked for a Ep.V BR110, and here it comes in a red DB colouring! Fantastic.ThumpUp
Although I believe that M* basically saved resources in launching new items by introducing only two (if I count correctly) completely new constructions (Glastrain and TGV) I have to admit that they have been extremely succesful in satisfying my personal taste for interesting and eye catching locs and waggons which I will certainly include in my shopping list.Razz

Not much of anything. Bought the wife a new car on monday. My M fund is pretty much gone for the next 72 months. Oh well, at least I get to wash it and put gas in it when it's low.

Judging from some of the responses to be found here, Model Railroading is alive and thriving, at least with mother M.

For myself, since here in western Canada we appear to be about a year out of sync with the rest of the Marklin world, I'll say that I'll probably pick-up ...

Marklin's BR 23 (#39230)
Marklin's E03 (#37575)

and, if it comes in in time... and... if the Gods are willing...

Marklin's E120 (#37485)
Marklin's Kroc (#39563)

Apart from that, I'll probably be picking up some track, some scenery, and a few ESU decoders, to replace the current Marklin ones of mine that are crapping outAngry.

and... (I say this every year) that will be the end of my locomotive purchases period Unsure.

I particulary like:

The 30210 diesel UserPostedImage with the 00796 tinplate cars UserPostedImage,

Zeppelin 37777 UserPostedImage and Glaskasten 37580 UserPostedImage.

The re-release of the F-7's UserPostedImage is great for us. They had to rework the nose, the old tooling was worn out. Ironically, Marklin seems to release the US models for the German market, and not for the US. However, I know that it made many modellers here happy.

The Sauerlach 37977 UserPostedImage with matching beer cars 45251 UserPostedImage will do well too!

Well, having looked at the new Z scale items, the only one I would be interested in is the Badische G12 (88124) but I really don't have a place for it. Sad as I had great expectations for this year. If I was into HO scale it would have been a different story; there's loads of stuff I would love to have.

Where do I start? A gun, some black clothes, a balaclava. Then I rob a bank or two... and then I will be able to afford...

1) Re 4/4I SBB
2) TEE Bavaria Set
3) Ae 610 Cargo
4) TGV

and from 2008
5) Trix TEE Roland Set
6) Re 10/10

7) Roco SBB ICN
8) LSM SBB UIC Coaches
9) Liliput PTT Container Sets
10) Roco 185 Ewals/Crossrail

and then I'll probably have to rob another bank

Regards

I fully agree with the above but in my case that I use primarily trix stuff (some marklin wagons too, but with dc wheels), would I be wrong to use this forum?? Is there a separate trix forum??Crying
