Hi all:

With M's engineers busy at 2006 items it's time to place our wishes biggrin:

D&RGW Mogul Type 2-6-0 Steamer, all sounds, plus old style coaches

NYC GM/EMD F7 Diesel A+B, all sounds (same as former 37622, 37623)

Here's mine:

* a new gt 2 x 4/4 (version as Trix 22007)
* the Prussian P8 (BR 38) in KPEV livery
* T-3 in epoche 1 version
* T-9 in Württemberg version (I agree with you John... would love a model of this one!)
and a small one:
an SSML flat car on 6 axles, not 4 like the # 46280

<br />Hi all,

Here is my wishlist:

SBB Re 6/6
SBB Ae 4/7
BR 18.4 with mfx soundmodule

I can recommend the Roco Re 6/6, I have the 69730 and rank it as number 2 or 3, competing with the Seetal krok. Runs very smooth with a Roco slient pickup shoe, even on my M tracks. (The 39561 krok is still number one...) HAG also has a range of Re 6/6 models, I believe they are fine too...

About the Ae 4/7, has anyone tested the Liliput and HAG contributions here?

My wish list (all Swiss, with C-sine or Faulhaber):

Re 4/4I The old RET800/3014!!!
Ce 6/8I "Köfferli-Lok" http://morep.ch/uartikel/fahrzeuge/koefferli.htm

Thanks Peter,it is nice to know that there are other "Swiss railroad" fans on the forum Smile.
I think I will consider the Roco as well as the HAG Re 6/6.Still I am a absolute Märklin fan and would love to see them create a Re 6/6 (BTW:It is stated in Klaus Eckert's book on Märklin that the Re 6/6 is about the only loco missing in their Swiss range [^])

1) Swiss Crocodile CE 6/8 with MFX decoder and moving pantographs.

2) semaphore signals similar to the new light signals

3) a new turntable for HO with a reliable digital control system

4) I echo Sander on the KPEV livery for the class 38 and the little T3 as well.

5) reliable conducting couplers, so we do not have to buy other manufacturers couplers that actually work.

6) maybe a delivery of the long awaited Central Station.

7) A retrofit kit to add telex couplers to locomotives.

8) A steam locomotive with a Christmas theme to accompany the christmas cars.

9) a reissue of the V188 series double locomotive with MFX and c-sine motor perhaps add telex couplers to this beauty.

10) ditto the bavarian Gt 2X 4X4

11) Perhaps some start into actual track maintenance vehicles Kibri makes some plastic models for assembly that look really cool.

Arent you anxious to see the 37992 issued with telex couplers !!! As a special exclusive issue for the people who bought the 37991 to obtain preferred delivery of the Central Station, your delivery might be prioritized to late 2005 instead of 2006 !!

How about the weathered version model number 37999 !!

I would like to see some more European Streamline passenger equipment. It’s hard to find any good books on Euro. trains from the 30's here in the USA, so I am kind of talking out of turn. But I am guessing that there were a lot of very interesting
RR developments going on in Europe around that time.

One should always have wishes, even if it lasts long until thei become true:

1. B-Unit for the UPRR PA-1 (motor or not). I had to wait 26 years for my UPRR F7 B-Unit.
2. Express train steam lok (UPRR), perhaps a Hudson or Northern in the Big Boy and Mikado quality
3. UPRR Heavy shunter (0-4-0)

What about a
-UP triple unit super turbine (TRIX)?

-a Schienenzeppelin with true propeller propulsion,... ultralight with ball bearing, self steering axles and sprung suspension?

-a new SBB crocodile after all these years (30, I believe), with separately applied handrails and six axle drive?

-an SVT 137 Bauart "Leipzig", to scale, please?

-a new E94/194 after about 42 years, with six axle drive, please?

-an SNCF 14.000/14.100?

-a Stadler railcar?

Manfred

New Loks with NEM/DCC digital socket, and low-end LokPilot. Plus, room made for sound speakers in frame. This lets us upgrade as we wish.biggrin (Brawa already does thiswink)

Also, keep the 'single screw' opening shell. I hate having to remove parts, insert screwdrivers, wiggle toes[8)], belch[:o)], and whatever else I have to do to open Roco Loks[xx(]. Marklin is robust enough that many users can repair by themselves, and this is a Major Selling point for mebiggrin.

I would suggest a loc that would cover much of Europe and in various gusies USA and beyond the wartime s160 thatwas sued in Poland Belgium and other European nations as well as being a basic USA 2 8 0, even saw use in the UK, several still run in preservation.

I also feel that French steam is so lacking a Marklin Chapelon 2 4 1 P would be a dream.

Other than that some

Hans Martin, what a great idea of yours [:p][:p][:p] - M would surely make big money with such a beauty !

BTW, one 4-8-4 Northern is still alive and well - CHESAPEAKE & OHIO No.614 Greenbrier ("The Cadillac of Steam Locomotives") was built in June 1948 at LIMA Locomotive Works and restored to condition-new 30 years ago by Broker (and Engineer!) Ross Rowland of Iron Horse Enterprises, Inc., Lebanon, NJ.

Hi Frostie, John,

I don't know if you mentioned a wheathered Big Boy by accident? But I've heard a quite reliable rumour that this years Messelok is a wheathered Big Boy. (If continued in the usual way there will be only 2005 pieces made...)

I confirmed with a Marklin Dealer - The Weathered Big Boy is happening with 2005 produced . This must be the overproduction after the insiders flocked to buy the big boy to get preferred 2006 delivery of the central station.

This is almost getting to be too much. Even a drug dealer knows to keep the junkie strung out just a little to keep him coming back for more. If he gives the junkie too much the junkie will OD and will not buy any more !!!

This is the report from my secret investigative department :
They are planning for:
Br96 pink color with delta decoder simply to torture me
Giraffe freight car to couple with the previous lonely Pig car
Rubber big boy to bump into a wall when we are angry
Bottle freight car with anaesthetic to use before to buy a new model too much expensive.
This is all, sorry for your dreams.... sigh!

I agree that it makes sense form a manufacturing point of view to have a weathered finish BB right now. But the problem for me is I cannot rationalize another mammoth purchase like this will be.

I do not know if M* is trying to increase their average selling price, like the $1,000 Turbo Train set and the multimedia big boy, followed shortly after by the weathered big boy. However I learned a very important fact in my investments:

Pigs get fat, and hogs get slaughtered - I have made some money investing, but I never wanted to get greedy, because that was when I loose money in investments.

However it will be interesting to see people going crazy on ebay over these BB weathered locomotives. However I see many snowy crocodiles go unsold, so there might be some bargains in a couple of years on a weathered BB.

You're right. Since 2002 M fed the collectors community with some BigBoys to add, if I remember correctly there were (are):

34990 Delta
37990 Digital Dual-Decoder
29848 Digital Single-Decoder
37991 Digital mfx-Decoder
37999 Digital mfx-Decoder, weathered

"That are only five - give us more !!!" - I'm not sure if M will ever hear such biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
Only trouble is - once you've started collecting an specific model it's a river of no return, sometimes ... [xx(]

Ha Ha

Frostie had it, from whatever source. Why is such number a problem, Foumaru ?

Foumaro, it's not a joke. It's reality. But with only 2005 pieces to be made not a very serious (read: common) model. It's possible that some of us will never even see this model for real since the little amount to be made and the fact that a dealer had to do a rather big order and the Spielwarenmesse (Toy Fair) to obtain one or more of these.

From my sources the weatthered Big Boy is probably 11 months away from delivery to dealers who have a certain level of 2005 new items purchases. They get one BB for a set multiple of purchases. If the multiple is $40,000 and the dealer orders $400,000 he will get 10 weathered big boys.

Estimated selling price is $1,000 per unit. OOOOOUCH ! I can imagine what the idiots will be willing to part with on ebay to buy one of these.

Of course you could just weather it yourself, or pay someone else who's good, for A LOT less money. There's a good tutorial by Kevin Brady on this site under "Models and Modeling" and elsewhere on the web.

I just completed my first attempt at weathering on an (unmarked from the factory) 30000 BR89 and was really pleased by the results. Once the first drop of color was applied it was easy. Next I'll take on my Piko 01.5 once my new Roco 01.5 arrives.

Well, my wish list is of different direction ( accesories)

1. A one piece C-track turntable ( integrated decoder and power feed)

2. C-sine motor and decoder for retrofitting

3. New signals with integrated brake module

4. Current conducting coupler for locos (red brown + decoder connection)

5. Some British locos
