Does anybody have the new pictograms as files in any picture format?

I have for the initial CS software but not the new ones.

Yes I believe so, but I need to do some testing... Did you see the page on the same website ( http://www.punktkontakt.de/_sgg/m3m5_1.htm )that talks about how to get a screen shot from the eCOS/CS?

Did you know that there is a version 1.1.1 available from the support site? I noticed that your signature block refers to 1.1.0..

Thanks Adrian,
I will download the new version and see what comes up.
Let us know how your testing goes.
The screen shot is good but my German is not so good.

Okay first bit of testing reveals that the procedure to get screen shots of your eCOS (and possibly your CS) is to:
1. Obtain the IP address of your eCOS from the ecos itself.
UserPostedImage
From the picture above we see that the IP Address is 192.168.2.78

2. Open a browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox)
Type http:\\ip address from step 1/cgi-bin/screen in the navigation bar and press the enter key.

UserPostedImage

The picture shows the command that I typed and the resulting screen.

3. To copy the image just right click your mouse button over the eCOS image and either save or copy the image. The bad news is that the image will only save as bmp from Internet Explorer so using the copy option and then pasting the image into MS-Paint will allow you to save the image as JPG to upload to this forum.

4. Press the F5 key to refresh the image as it does not automatically update when you change the screen on the eCOS.

After pressing F5 you can see the current load on the eCOS from my layout..

Cheers
Adrian

Well done Adrian.

But is there any way to get those train images from here http://www.punktkontakt.de/_sgg/m3m3_1.htm
into the ecos file of train images.

Still working on that little problem.. I did find a test screen by pressing F0 and F7 buttons on both sides at the same time... Touch the little numbers to test the touch screen.. It may test the sniffer port for you too...

sounds great and it would be nice if the sniffer can be tested.
I'll let you keep working on it.

Sigh... It does not look possible for end users to update the eCOS symbols yet.. This is a copy of the message from eCOS support when asked about a symbol editor..

Roughly translated:

The ECoS has sufficient memory in it, so that we can in future years incorporate new functionality, which we can schedule in this time. The idea with the symbol editor is surely good, but was postponed in favour of fixing other issues. Whether we insert an editor or provide a upload from a PC interface, I cannot say at present. We can decide that only if we concern the function actively.

Oh well.. At least it is on the cards...

I think picture editing could very well be in one of the next updates. It seems there are not so many other open issues right now. I for one am hoping for (almost) full locprogrammer functionality so that I can program my own sounds.

BTW the 1.1.2 update could come any day now, as 3 months have past since the previous one.
