Hi Steven,

No, this is what the colour is going to be like.
The model is not weathered, and, unlike the last years, not for free either. It used to be the case that a dealer got a - number of - so-called "Messe-modelle" as a gift for a reasonably sized order of new items placed at the Toy Fair. This year however, dealers can order (and pay) a number dependent on their order volume.

I'm sorry, but I'm with Goofy on this one! biggrin

But when looking through "Bahn-Extra" 4/2007 I found this black loco on page 26! Or at least it looks like a BR 61. The photo is in black and white so it's a bit difficult to tell, but it sure looks black to me! And there's a 78 besides it that have the same "shades" and I guess that loco must be black.
According to the text it was used by the privately owned "Lubeck-Buchener Eisenbahn" (LBE). The picture is taken in 1938 and shows the loco with "Doppelstockwagen" at the Hamburg station.

So I have a question. Is this the 61 001 or 61 002, or is it another similar loco (it looks however to be identical to the 61). Anyone who knows?

Sorry, I was a bit unclear. I wonder if the loco that were used (in "real life") by "Lubeck-Buchener Eisenbahn" (LBE) back in the thirties, was the 61 001, 61 002 or a third loco very similar to the BR 61.

The LBE used a small streamlined tank loco, commonly known as the "Micky Maus" loco... It is not a BR 61, it was much smaller and I don't recall an official BR designation for it... Maybe others can help here...

Thanks for the info and the nice pictures Juhan! That's the loco I've been wondering about...

I found an old post in "Model rail Forum" where the user "bobknee" had the following to say about the loco:

It was a Class 60 tank 2-4-2 built in 1936 for the then private Lubeck-Buchener Eisenbahn.
Whilst it looked similar in shape to the Henschal Wegmann Class 61 tank locos, it was considerably smaller.

So it was a class 60 loco and, as you pointed out, much smaller than the class 61. From what I understand it was painted black.

At least I've seen that LIMA made one. There's one on e-bay now:
http://cgi.ebay.de/LIMA-...12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

The loco is grey and not black as I thought. Although it's hard to tell in a black and white photo, I still think that the loco I've seen in a magazin was black. But on the other hand, the loco in Juhans picture above looks more grey than black. And I guess mice are grey (Mickey Mouse)...

Ah, Lima, yes you're right, it wasn't Liliput, I stand corrected. First time I saw this set I thought it was another one of Lima's fantasy models, but it's actually a very nice set. Motor and mechanism are still rubbish, though...

Sorry Stephen, didn't notice your question about the LBE pics until now...

Those 2 pics are photographed by me from the book "Reichsbahn-Album" by Alfred B. Gottwaldt from Motorbuch Verlag, ISBN-3-87943-447-6.
Very nice book indeed if you are into German steamers... Lots of pics...

So the delivery of 39618 is on now... Hope I get a bill from LokShop soon then... Usually never look forward to any bills....biggrin

What is the dark grey supposed to be : a DRG era 2 as well ?
I thought the back one was a "immediate after war II livery " , is it correct ?

I have seen boxes, one is mentionned with SDS, the other one is not mentionned SDS.( i'don't remember which one)
When rolling on track , could you see a difference between them ?
thank you for sharing pictures , Steven !
