Our "Queens Birthday" anniversary weekend (31st May - 2nd June) saw the annual Model X take place in Henderson, Waitakere City, over 3 days. Very successful and our local Auckland MMR group had a modular layout in operation.

The faces say it all really

The 43237/43238 Rheingold sets with Trix 23337 Baggage car.
This is not our club layout but a collection of modules made by members that can be assembled in minutes. The club supplied the four corner modules and the members have done the rest. All C Track and still a work in progress but the progress is amazing.
This is not all the modules either.
I apologise in advance for the lack of photos, these ones were taken on Saturday but I could only stay from 3 hours and then I was occupied in operations. I forgot the camera on Monday but my excuse is that I had dragged my sorry self out of bed following my night-shifts.
Our club night is Monday so I will try and steal some more pics and post them along with some from out club layout.

Our NZ M* agent Toottoot (toottoot.co.nz) came from down south and had a very successful time of it.

Toottoot is a real stevenson family affair. Dion looking very happy. He was up with brother Hayden from the Hawkes Bay branch and their dad as well to lend a hand.

Club modular corner with tunnel.
E118 pulling a Rheingold consist and a V200 with the 46045 Gondola set plus my 6 Oot Hoppers.
We were not Era specific

The other end of the layout on the club corners. Further view of the 46045 / Oot consist.

Steve Siegel's (Club President and producer of our
AC Eurailer magazine) 3 modules. The 'back straight' with loco servicing area and a shunting area at the far end.

Close up of the coaling area. PCM BR.01 with a BR.41 hidden behind.

View from the other end. The tracks going into the uncompleted hill will be another module (Garry's) for a staging area.

Overview of Andrews fantastic 2 modules. Still a work in progress but this is really amazing.

The track on the viaduct is made up of 24912 curves with a small straight piece on the outer track to maintain spacing.
My PCM BR.01 at low speed had an issue with the right hand track at the joint between the modules and would wheel-slip. This was caused by the slight difference in height and the track is not screwed down.

The other end of the viaduct. PCM BR.01 and Oot consist strutting their stuff.
And the other track visible is this:

A view for the little ones and a place for Thomas and Friends to play.
Andrew has built this lower level to cater for the smaller children.
This is fantastic and real hit with them.
Ultimately there will be a set up to allow the chiildren to stop the train at the station.

This is a two track operation with the trains in and out of tunnels and over bridges. Spellbinding.

I hope you enjoyed these pics.
Cheers
Tony
