I have a small layout and the trains
are scheduled by the use of relays
splitting the layout into "blocks".
To perform the control of three trains
running simultaneously on my single track layout,
I've used three latching relays.
The relays are drivent by the Märklin detecting tracks
with also perform the direction detection.
A few switches are used to configure the system to allow:
- three trains together,
- two trains crossing at the station.
- two trains with one waiting in a tunnel.
- one train.
- optionnal separated powered blocks to adjust speed with different
regulators.
- optionnal infinite wait at the station with manual restart.
- force stop on a block.
- force start on a block.
This system has been studied to use the minimum quantity of components.
So no need to wait for the system to boot, the system is OK when main
AC is plugged.
