I also got that one, brand new in box and never tested. But i know that the dieselmotor-sound and the bell is good on those models. BUT the horn sounds[xx(]..
However, i'v read somewhere and have seen on pictures that some F7's had a 3-tone horn, maybee its that what Marklin (or esu) has recorded? But the SF F7 shood have a powerfull "normal" horn. Does somewhone know if the horn is adjustible from that weak sound to the more common powerfull horn on 37622?

These locos are very heavy and i believe they need a more powerfull motor(s) , i am not totally satisfied with its speed characteristics .

Sorry my friend, but that's hogwash - #37622 F7 is one of my more powerful engines if not the most !
Beats any of those new PA-1s, even the D&RGW double header when it comes to pulling power CoolCoolCool
Adjust top speed to max, reduce acc delay - and off you go biggrin

While you are at it - look for dry gears, axles and motor bearings, condition of brushes and slider
(this model stems from year 2000) - and select all those sounds according to your personal taste ...

If all this won't help tell dealer he sold ya a lemon [}:)]

You might be right John , but i have compared the 37621 and the 37622 with the ultimate loco , the V188 37284 (the BB is excepted) and i realised that there is no match .
What i have realised is that at a steep gradient 37621-2 cannot move(1-2 speed steps of the cs) , because of their heavy body , on the other hand the V188 has no problem at all .

A remark about the movement of the loco , at the first speed scale of the cs :
The loco was not moving at a gradient while the motor was "cold" , on the other hand , the loco managed to move after i had her running for some minutes , so as to warm her up .

Very nice John congratulations Cool , you have a fine collection , i tested the Rio Grande loco yesterday and i have to admit that these double locos seem to be quite powerfull but not something much improved that the fx single PA-1 , i am thinking of buying that loco this year , although i am not a big PA-1 fan .

Great set of cars, Nikos - congratulations [:p] (got it, too) ... BTW, you couldn't be more on topic [^]

Well, we do buy M's new loco releases by the numbers - but we rarely get those cars ... [xx(]
Thus for my D&RGW PA-1 I've found one half-a**ed solution. It's far away from being perfect, but
it beats no freight at all 40 miles by sunday. And at least the cars' colors match the loco ...

Upgraded the motorised dummy units of #37612 and #37613 w/ OEM decoders, speakers & shoes.
Now Grandson Enzo got two fully fledged PA-1s (one D&RGW, one SP) Smile

Thanks, Guus. And you're right - it's the greatest thing on Earth [:p]

Well, for the sake of his more expensive locos [:I] they are stored in his train box

I went for it! Just ordered from Lokshop.. 43601-02-03-04 and -14.. the whole set.

Next stop.. see the lawyer for the divorce papers!

But everything will be fine.. M* USA just shipped the 37610+49610 combo and I will have plenty of space for this beauty now that wifey is leaving!!

(Just kidding.. I am divorced but my girlfriend is equally demanding)
